Electrostatic Liquid Application

WAGNER's electrostatic atomization processes are highly economical coating systems, offering decisive advantages over conventional application techniques in many areas of the spray booth industry.

    • Whether it's a "manual operation" or a process controlled automatic application - WAGNER offers the right electrostatic gun for every material and every spray booth application.
  • High surface quality
    • Due to the electrostatic charge (max. 80 kV), the paint particles repel each other to produce an extremely fine atomization. The uniform spray jet generates a very homogeneous material application with an even coating, resulting in a particularly high quality finish on your spray booth projects.
  • Efficient coating
    • The wrap-around effect results from a force field between the negatively charged paint particles and the grounded work piece. Both the front and rear of the wor piece can thus be coated at the same time - with enormous savings in material and time.

Electrostatic Process


Air Atomization:

Excellent surface quality - universally usable
The conventional air atomizing process is the classical method of atomizing paints. This type of application meets the highest demands for surface quality and finish. Its universal range of application in industry and for special applications is what makes this tried-and-tested technology such a success in spray booths. The central feature of this process is that the paint is atomized by air. The atomizing air flows out through a circular opening in the air cap and can be shaped from a round jet to a flat jet by means of the fan control.

AirCoat Atomization:

Better performance - less environmental pollution from your spray booth

Typical for the AirCoat process is its distinctly lower paint pressure compared to the Airless process, and the particularly soft and homogeneous spray jet due to the feed of additional atomizing air. This is provided by the central air feed (air cap) located immediately adjacent to the nozzle hole and that surrounds the sprayed medium like a sheath. Additional advantages are its high coating speed and low overspray.

Electrostatic Guns for Manual Application

WAGNER electrostatic manual guns have been specially developed for day-to-day spray booth painting. Their well-balanced ergonomics, low trigger and holding effort and their low weight offer user-friendly handling and provide optimum working comfort. All electrostatic guns for manual spray booth application of solvent-based paints are explosion protected in accordance with the ATEX guideline.

Guns with Air Atomization

Gm 2800EA: Suitable for all solvent-based paints (even low resistance types, e.g. metallics) with a specific paint resistance of more than 50 kOhm (on the WAGNER scale). The unit is equipped with a detachable nozzle system and offers more protection against backspraying. Controller VM 200 or VM 2000

Gm 2900EAW*: Universal manual air atomizing gun for water-based paints (primers, top coats, lacquers).  Use in combination with AquaCoat or isolated system.

Guns with AirCoat Atomization

GM 2000EAC: For solvent-based paints and primers that exhibit a specific paint resistance of more than 150 kOhm (on the WAGNER scale).  Controller VM 200 or VM 2000

GM 2900EACW*: Universal manual gun using the AirCoat process for water-based paints (primers, top coats,laquers).  Use in combination with AquaCoat or isolated system.

*Units marked with a “W” may only be used with non-flammable spraying materials to VDE 0745 part 200 (EN 50059).

WAGNER AquaCoat

Comply more easily with the VOC guideline by switching to more environmentally friendly water-based paints.
With the new AquaCoat® system, WAGNER has developed a system, which with its sophisticated technology and extensive combination of safety precautions offers optimal protection for users in spray booths.

High level of safety:

  • The central control unit regulates and controls all functions of the AquaCoat® system.
  • During application, access to the interior of the device is blocked mechanically.
  • The most important safety systems are present in duplicate, thus eliminating a source of danger to the user.

Easy to use:

  • A hose and gun holder on the outside of the AquaCoat® protects the hose package and the gun against soiling and damage.
  • The large front opening enables easy access to the paint supply and quick color changing.
  • The recesses for fork lift and the optional chassis simplify handling.

Easy maintenance:

  • The central fastening mechanism for the gun and hose package enables them to be changed quickly, keeping downtimes short.
  • An insert tank simplifies cleaning of the interior.
